4 Tips For Your Post Workout Skin Care Routine

For a workout enthusiast, hitting the gym regularly, burning the calories and sweating like a beast is the best feeling. While sweating and increased blood flow is actually good for healthy skin and a natural glow, if you are not particularly careful about your pre and post-workout skincare, your workout sweats could result in a breakout!

Here are a few simple and easy steps to keep your skin clear after a good workout. After all, you are doing all this hard work to look and feel good.

1. Clean your skin and keep your hands off it

Always remove your makeup before hitting the gym. Keeping makeup remover wipes in your gym bag comes in very handy for an easy clean. Also, try to resist the temptation to wipe off sweat from your body or face with your hands so you avoid the bacteria transfer from your hands to your face.

2. Protect your skin from the sun

If you work out outdoors, apply a light sunscreen. You don’t want a health-boosting workout to result in you actually looking more aged from sun damage! Plus – the increased blood flow is going to give you those sun-kissed rosy cheeks anyway!

3. Wear a cotton scarf to cover your head

Keep your hair and unwanted sweat from your face by using a cotton scarf or a towel headband.  Sweat can clog your pores and cause breakouts.

4. Take a few minutes steam

After taking a post-workout shower, take a few minutes and use the steam room. Steam naturally; it unclogs your pores, removes impurities from your skin and is perfect for keeping your skin hydrated.

Establishing a workout-specific skincare regime is as important as having a morning and night skincare routine. Make sure your workout is working for your beauty and not against it!
